The 2007-2008 year kicked off with the President's Cocktail Reception, hosted year by Barclay's Capital at its 200 Park Avenue location. The event opened with Reubin Daniels, co-head of Barclay's US Investment Banking, greeting the attendees on behalf of Barclay's and spoke about Barclay's diversity efforts and its commitment to improving the diversity of its leadership.
Lisa Dallmer and Liz Byrnes, Co-Presidents, welcomed the membership back from the summer, introduced the new board, and gave an overview of the upcoming year. They discussed the mission of the WBC and the way in which that mission relates to our events and our committees. Calling for committee volunteers, they gave an overview of the activities of each committee.
Following this overview, the Co-Presidents encouraged the membership to get on to the real purpose of the event: the networking!
